Annual · SGDTax-resident
Sets the earned income relief and CPF rate.
Tax residents pay income tax on chargeable income (employment income less reliefs), at progressive rates from 0% to 24%. The reliefs covered here are earned income relief, which rises with age, and relief for CPF and SRS contributions, all within the S$80,000 overall cap on personal reliefs.
Citizens, and permanent residents from their third year, pay employee CPF contributions of up to 20% of wages, on ordinary wages up to S$8,000 a month and total wages up to S$102,000 a year. Foreigners working in Singapore don't pay CPF until they are granted permanent resident status.
The pension input is treated as voluntary Supplementary Retirement Scheme (SRS) contributions, which are deductible up to S$35,700 a year for foreigners and S$15,300 for citizens and permanent residents.
